Department of Chemistry

Founder Head (HoD): Prof. Kamalesh Choudhury
The Department of Chemistry was established in the year 2011 under the stewardship of Prof. Kamalesh Choudhury, a noted academician and educator from Assam. It marked a humble beginning to impart quality teaching and research in Chemistry in this remote region of India.

Presently, Department offers two-year (4 semesters) M.Sc. programme with specialization in all major areas of Chemistry to provide students with the necessary theoretical background and introduction to laboratory methods. The total intake capacity in M.Sc.programmeis 28. Department is also offering Ph.D. programme in Chemistry since 2014.
