The Health Centre of Rajiv Gandhi University is located at the centre point of the campus. It is a Primary Health Centre and caters to the health care requirements of the staffs, staff dependents, students and the visitors to the campus. The Centre welcomes people from the neighboring villages of the University who seek consultations and treatment. The services provided are free for every patient who visits the Health Centre.
The Health Centre is manned by two Medical Officers, one Staff Nurse, one Medical Laboratory Technician, two Multi Tasking Staffs and one Gardener. It is a four bedded which includes three beds in the Observation Room and one bed in the Dressing Room.
Consultations and treatment take place from Monday to Saturday to patients who seek health care.
Pregnant women are registered, evaluated, treated and advised for follow – up till the delivery due date.
Every 1st Tuesday of the month is the vaccination day where children are vaccinated against the vaccine preventable diseases as part of the National Immunisation Programme.
As part of the National initiative for treatment of Tuberculosis, the Health Centre is a designated treatment centre where T.B. medicines are dispensed to patients and followed up till completion of the full course of treatment.
Basic minimum clinical investigations are carried out and results provided to strengthen the diagnostic and treatment process.
A medical Pharmacy is providing essential medicines for those in urgent need for various ailments.
As a designated informer unit of the National Polio Surveillance Programme (NPSP) and Measles Surveillance Programme (MSP), the Health Centre notifies the suspected cases of polio and measles if detected to higher health authorities in the district level.
Appropiate and prompt referral is advised to higher medical centre located in the city as and when a patient is in need. For this, to transport patients to hospitals an ambulance is stationed round the clock for facilitating.
Only Emergency Cases are Attended on Holidays
Sundays, National Holidays and Gazetted Holidays as per University calendar are observed as closed holidays. When the Health Centre is not open, all the patients are advised to go to Government Hospital or any other Hospital nearby.
Registration for the consultation is to be done by all patients. The Registration counter closes at 4:30 p.m.
Policy Regarding Confidentiality
Personal and medical histories of the patients are treated with utmost confidentiality.
Based on the documents submitted by the applicant, administrative approval is accorded if the Competent Authority finds the documents in order.
The Health Centre informs the applicant as and when the order for medical treatment outside Arunachal Pradesh is prepared and ready. The applicant has to collect the order copy from the Health Centre office.

Empanelled Hospitals
As per the approval of the 18th Meeting of the Executive Council (EC) of the University, it is decided that all the regular employees (teaching & non-teaching) and their dependents are expected to take treatment from the empanelled hospitals with prior approval from the Competent Authority of the University.
