The M.A. in History is a two-year postgraduate programme that provides an in-depth understanding of India’s and the world’s historical developments, cultures, and civilizations. The course aims to develop critical perspectives on political, social, economic, and cultural transformations through different periods of history.
Students explore areas such as ancient, medieval, and modern Indian history, world history, historiography, archaeology, and regional studies, supported by research projects, fieldwork, and seminars. The programme encourages analytical thinking, historical interpretation, and research-oriented learning.
Career opportunities include roles as historians, researchers, museum curators, archivists, educators, and cultural resource specialists in academic institutions, heritage organizations, and government sectors.
