The M.A. in Tribal Studies is a two-year postgraduate programme dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of tribal societies, cultures, traditions, and development issues. The course aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the social, economic, political, and cultural dimensions of tribal life, with a focus on Northeast India and beyond.
Students explore areas such as anthropology, sociology, history, development policy, governance, and cultural heritage, supported by fieldwork, research projects, and seminars. The programme encourages critical thinking, research, and advocacy for inclusive and sustainable tribal development.
